We’ve decided to make it official – with a weekend in Wales surrounded by the people we love.
We appreciate two days of shenanigans is quite a tall order, and understand that not everybody will be able to join for both. Saturday 25th is the ‘wedding day’; Sunday 26th is a little bonus for those who are able to make a weekend of things.
‘Why Wales?’ you say. Well, despite only being a stone’s throw away from the Isle of Man, we’ve developed something of a soft spot for nearby Wales.
Road-tripping across Wales for our first holiday as a couple, to windswept beach days in the Gower with pals, idyllic camping on the edge of Snowdonia, plentiful hilltop walks, local food and drink galore, even festivals in miniature “Italian” towns…. this lovely country is filled-to-the-brim with beautiful people and places, and we’re excited about celebrating in a little corner of it with you.
You may know that we both have family connections with Wales. Will’s mum Pam is half Welsh, north to be precise; while Sam’s grandfather on her Dad’s side was the Welsh singer Howard Jones, from small mining town Pontypridd, and lead vocalist with 40s & 50s number one chart-toppers, the Joe Loss Band. Wales is still home to some of Sam’s family.
Family aside, we’ve come to spend time in Wales in recent years. There’s lots to see, visit and experience; the food, accommodation and camping tend to be top-notch. It isn’t too difficult to get to and we definitely recommend soaking it up and having a little look around whilst you’re there.

Now, this all said, the weather is certainly not Wales’ strongest selling point. We fully expect a bit of drizzle over the wedding weekend, so come with an open mind to summer showers and the occasional downpour, or three…
Rain or shine, we’re delighted to be inviting you to make some special memories with us over our wedding weekend.
Join us at Plas Dinam Country House for a day of love, laughter and celebrations.
A ceremony at 1.30pm will be followed by drinks and canapes, before sitting to speeches and dinner from around 4.30pm. Music and dancing to follow. Carriages at 12.30pm.
Transport will be arranged to and from nearby accommodation. Some parking available onsite.
More details on this to follow nearer the time.
Dress Code: Lounge Suits
Whilst there’s no pressure to attend both days… it goes without saying, we fully hope you can!
Sunday will be a relaxed and fun day with no set agenda, other than an opportunity for extra memory-making with friends and family – and a good old catch-up with people we/you may not have seen in a long time.
Expect (optional) games, activities for the kids, great food and drink, not to mention music and DJ sets from some of our nearest and dearest.
Transport will be arranged from nearby accommodation from 1pm.

Earlier that day…
For anyone feeling adventurous, Will is planning a wildwater swim at a nearby dipping hole, about 20 minutes walk from Plas Dinam, leaving at 10am (ish).
Not quite as gruelling as the New Year’s Laxey Dip, but similar vibes, for anyone feeling fresh, or who just needs more than a Bloody Mary to bounce back the following day.
This part of the world has an excellent choice of self-catering accommodation (not so much when it comes to high end hotels).
This in mind, we’ve gone ahead and reserved a number of accommodation types at nearby Love2Stay (ignore the name) – this is a great little place with high-spec lodge facilities, which we’ve tried and tested several times, and can highly recommend. Around six minutes’ drive from the wedding venue.
Preferential rates have been arranged based on a three night stay – Friday 24th-Sunday 27th July. If you’d like to take advantage of this, please let us know and we’ll share the options we believe best for you. Price per night is £55-75 per person.
In addition, a number of rooms and tents have been held onsite at the venue, namely for family or those with children. Onsite childcare will be available on the Saturday and Sunday, so we can all let our hair down and enjoy some good, old-fashioned revelry.
Alternative independent accommodation is also available.
Once we’ve received your RSVP, we will be in touch with suggested accommodation.
Plas Dinam is located quite near to the English border and is not too buried in hilly Wales. It’s fairly easily accessible from nearby airports, train stations and motorways.

Whilst our natural inclination was to share the old adage “Your Presence is Gift Enough”, having given this plenty of thought, we’d humbly like to suggest a (very optional) gift of, either, a book or a piece of vinyl.
This could be your favourite read or LP, something that makes you think of us, or just something you think we need in our lives.
A gift like this would be the perfect memento to remember sharing our wedding with you – something we would keep forever and enjoy for years to come.
